Children at WBC
A
new fashion trend?
Not exactly...
Just like on Noah's Ark, this little
critter has a partner. When you bring your child to the nursery or
pre-school area, your child will receive an animal. That animal will
be clipped to his or her clothing. The parent or guardian
responsible for the child will receive the matching bracelet. This
is done to help insure that children are leaving with the person
they arrived with.
It's not for the jewelry box, but It's part of a plan to continue
keeping children safe at Winnwood. We want all children and parents
to feel safe while worshipping at our church. View our CAP policy to
learn more about the guidelines in place to protect children.
Child Abuse Prevention (C.A.P.)
The C.A.P. Policy was developed and put into practice at
Winnwood in 1997. The primary purpose is to ensure that a safe
environment exists for the children and youth who participate in
church activities. Child abuse and molestation are on the rise in
our country, and unfortunately, the church is not immune. We want
parents to know that we take very seriously the safety and
well-being of their children and youth. In order for an individual
to be able to work with children and youth in our church, they must
complete the training and be an active member for a minimum of 6
months. For further information and additional details about the
training, please ask to see a copy of the C.A.P. manual or contact
the church office to have a copy sent to you.
If you would like to serve the Lord and our church by working
with children or youth, you must be CAP trained. Please contact the
office at 816-453-4500, if you would like to schedule a time to go
through this training.
